About this Dog
Meet Skye! Skye is a gentle, shy girl who takes a little time to warm up, but once she feels safe, her sweet personality starts to shine. She loves being brushed and is very food motivated—treats are a great way to earn her trust. Skye is currently learning about the world around her. She uses newspaper or potty pads and doesn’t seem to have been outside much before coming into care. She’s still working on leash skills and will benefit from continued training and patience. Skye would thrive in a home with another confident dog to help guide her and show her how to play and enjoy life as a beloved pet. She has seen cats from a distance and is curious, occasionally barking, but has not had direct interaction with them yet. Because she is still learning to trust and adapt, Skye is considered a flight risk and will need a secure setup—such as a fenced yard, a tie-out, or a secure dog run—along with a harness and martingale collar when outside. With the right environment and a little patience, Skye has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. Skye is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.

Adopt Skye and Receive Skye's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Skye's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Skye's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Skye, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Skye's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Skye was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Skye’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Skye’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Skye’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
