About this Dog
Meet Rudy – The Sweetest Shy Guy Looking for a Patient Heart! Rudy is a timid little soul with a big heart who wants so badly to be loved, he's just a little too scared to ask for it right away. This handsome, chunky boy is cautious around people at first, but once he feels safe, he’ll quietly follow you from room to room like a soft shadow, hoping for connection. He adores the company of smaller dogs and would absolutely thrive with a calm canine companion who can show him the ropes. Rudy is kennel trained and sleeps soundly through the night, although he might bark a little when people are home, it’s his way of saying, “I’m here too!” He knows to potty outside but doesn’t yet know how to let you know when it’s time. He is working hard on it and learning from the other dogs in the home. If you try to pick him up too quickly, Rudy might do a little fear growl or act like he might nip, but don’t worry, he’s never actually followed through. He just needs you to go slow and show him he’s safe. With time, trust, and a gentle hand, Rudy blossoms. One of the best sights in the world is his happy little dance when he gets excited—it’s pure joy! Because of his timid nature, Rudy isn’t a match for a home with small children, but a quiet, predictable environment with a patient, dog-savvy adult (or two) would be his perfect setting. He’s currently on a diet to help him feel his best and would love some wet food mixed in with his kibble, it’s his favorite! Rudy’s ideal family will give him the time he needs to come out of his shell and discover that love isn’t so scary after all. If you have room in your heart for a gentle, shy companion who’s just waiting for the right person to help him shine, Rudy may be your perfect match. Rudolph is from Texas. He was found in a field with a mama dog and several puppies—likely dumped and left to fend for themselves. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.

100% of Rudolph's balance will be sent to whoever adopts Rudolph.
Adopt Rudolph and Receive Rudolph's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Rudolph's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Rudolph's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Rudolph, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Rudolph's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Rudolph was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Rudolph’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Rudolph’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Rudolph’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
