About this Dog
Hi! My name is Jack Jack and I am looking for my forever family. I am a pint-sized guy with a gallon sized personality. I LOVE LOVE LOVE toys – especially squeaky ones but I destroy anything that isn’t designed for a strong chewer. I am very food driven and I have been known to try to help myself to things that are not mine to eat so temptation should be kept to a minimum for a happy house. On the positive side, I can be redirected very easily with the promise of a treat no matter what I am doing. I go for several walks each day to work on my leash manners. I am getting better and better but I do best with a Walkie leash to reduce my pulling. I know sit, down, crate, off and am working on a few more manners. I also like playing with the dog that lives here - playing and keeping me company in the yard, and learning basic manners – he sits for treats, walks nicely on a leash and I am good at following his lead. A house with a dog would help to keep me busy but I can be selective about other dogs. I do better with dogs that are bigger than me but would need to have slow introductions to get used to each other. I do have a strong prey drive so no cats or small critters should live with me. I do feel the need to bark at any potential threats – like car doors slamming at the house next door, delivery trucks pulling up to a neighbor’s house, etc. so shared walls may not be best at least to begin with until I get comfortable. I go in my crate when I am given the command, and settle quickly but I don’t sleep in it overnight anymore. The best place to sleep is in the same room as the humans - next to them in bed is really where I want to be. I will snuggle up and snore quietly every chance I get. I would love to meet you and find my new home! Jack Jack is from a local shelter. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.

Adopt Jack Jack and Receive Jack Jack's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Jack Jack's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Jack Jack's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Jack Jack, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Jack Jack's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Jack Jack was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Jack Jack’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Jack Jack’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Jack Jack’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
