About this Dog
Meet Indigo, better known as Indy (or Indy 500 when she gets the zoomies)! In just her short life, lil mama has been through a lot: as her belly folds suggest, she was used by her past owner for breeding. When they no longer needed her, she was dumped at animal control. Thankfully, after three weeks of that nonsense, she finally got a second lease on life in a foster home! Indy is first and foremost a lover. She is an A++ cuddler and will nestle her hippo noggin into you like you are long lost besties. As a moderate energy girlie, she both loves to explore and play but is also able to settle and nap of her own volition. In just her first couple of weeks in foster care, she’s caught on beautifully to positive reinforcement training and has learned that she can look to her human for support when she’s feeling uncertain. We’re currently working up to feeling more certain around other dogs, as well as learning how to channel our prey drive in safe yet fulfilling ways. She’s a strong woman, both in terms of resilience and physicality, so her forever human should have muscles. Her forever home would also ideally have a fenced yard, in part to allow her the freedom of movement she needs and also because the girl lives for a good food scatter foraging session, which we do daily! She also loves her stuffies (especially if they squeak or oink), as well as balls, flirt pole, snore-laden naps, butt scritches, and generally just spending time with you. Indy has so much love to give. So if you’re ready for your heart to explode, there’s no doubt that Indy is too. What makes Indigo special? She loves wormy-worming in grass. She'll also sometimes randomly grab a stuffy and parade around the house with it in her mouth, which is very endearing. If you like a dog that snores, Indy's excellent at that as well. She is also a wiggle butt, especially when you come back home. Lately, when I come back home, she's figured out that I won't pay her attention until she calms down, and in an effort to calm herself down, sometimes she'll try to offer a sit, but she's so excited that she'll be tip-tapping her feet whilst huffing and grunting, trying to keep it together. Another thing that makes me smile is how she's starting to enjoy learning, and it's rewarding to see a new concept click for her. Indigo is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.

Adopt Indigo and Receive Indigo's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Indigo's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Indigo's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Indigo, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Indigo's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Indigo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Indigo’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Indigo’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Indigo’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
