About this Dog
Meet Walter, the ultimate Velcro dog who just wants to be loved and adored! Walter is as sweet as they come, and his favorite place in the world is curled up in your lap or sleeping next to you. He will follow you around, eager for affection and attention. Walter came to us with his sister and her puppy, and they make the cutest little family! He plays so well with his family members and gets along with all of the other foster dogs, including larger dogs, so he’d fit into just about any household. While Walter loves being with his people, he does get a little anxious when left alone outside. Walter does great in a crate and is also well-behaved in the car. He’s doing okay on the leash but would benefit from a bit more practice. When you stop petting him, be ready for some gentle persuasion—he’ll lick your hand until you start again! When he’s done something wrong—he’ll lay on his side with his paws in the air, looking so adorably guilty that you can’t help but forgive him. Puppy dog eyes for the win! Walter would thrive in a loving home, perhaps with an older couple or anyone looking for a companion who craves attention and affection. Walter is from Texas. This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease and is available through our Foster-to-Adopt (FTA) program. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due. The adopter will be responsible for scheduling the retest and obtaining any follow-up prescriptions through their veterinarian. https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics to learn more about heartworm disease. Adopt Walter and Receive Walter's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Walter's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Walter's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Walter, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Walter's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Walter was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Walter’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Walter’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Walter’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
