About this Cat
Meet Fern, a brave and adventurous kitten named after the determined character from Frieren: Beyond Journey's End! This beautiful dark grey tabby is the most outgoing of her siblings, all of whom recently came in from an outdoor colony. Fern's quickly discovering the amazing comforts of indoor life and how truly wonderful pets and cuddles can be. She's an absolute cat tree connoisseur, spending hours climbing, scratching, and racing up and down them like a tiny lumberjack! Fern loves to explore new territories, always seeking out the best high vantage points to survey her new kingdom. She's the slightly darker, identical twin to her sister, Frieren. While Fern needs a little time, space, and patience to fully settle into her new home, the investment is truly worth it. Once she feels safe and secure, you'll discover a well-rounded kitten with a delightful personality. And just like her sister, the sound of a wet food can opening is her absolute favorite – she'll come running every time! Ready to help Fern continue her journey and conquer the comforts of indoor living with you? Fern is from a community cat colony. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.

Adopt Fern and Receive Fern's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Fern's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Fern's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Fern, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Fern's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Fern was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Fern’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Fern’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Fern’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
