I’m still learning that the world is a safe place—but I’m getting there, one gentle pet at a time. When I first arrived at my foster home, everything was unfamiliar and a little scary. I like to find a cozy hiding spot where I can watch from a safe distance. But if you come over slowly and speak softly, I’ll let you give me pets—and I’m starting to learn that they actually feel really nice. I’m fully litter box trained and enjoy playing. If you have a toy on a string, I will come out and play with you. I’m not ready to seek out attention just yet, but I’m making small progress every day with patience and love from my foster mom. I have gotten to meet one of the cats in my foster home, and I come out immediately when I see him, so I would LOVE to have another cat or cat-savvy dog in the home. I’ll do best in a calm, quiet home with someone who understands that shy kittens need time to feel safe. If you have a kind heart and a little extra patience, I’d love to grow and learn with you. I can’t wait to meet you and find my furever home. I know we’ll be best friends! Dom is from a local impound. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.

Adopt Dom and Receive Dom's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Dom's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Dom's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Dom, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Dom's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Dom was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Dom’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Dom’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Dom’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
