About this Cat
Meet Challah! A little loaf as sweet as his name, Challah is ready for a forever family of his own. He is the absolute definition of a “Velcro cat” and his favorite place to be is wherever his humans are…yes, even the shower. He is fun, sweet, loyal and snuggly! As he grew up with three siblings and his foster’s two resident cats, Challah would love to have a kitty friend in his forever home, or to be adopted with a kitty of a similar age. One of Challah’s littermates did test positive for calicivirus, so it is possible Challah may get recurrent upper respiratory issues and flare-ups as he grows up, but he is very good at taking hus eye drops and oral medications with no fuss. It is important that any cats in the home Challah goes to are fully up to date on their FVRCP (commonly called the “feline distemper combo) vaccine to protect them from any communicable upper respiratory issues. Challah is truly the best little buddy and adopting him means adopting your own personal cheerleader, assistant, heating pad, and entertainment all in one tiny sweet tabby boy! Challah is from an owner surrender with 3 siblings. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.

Adopt Challah and Receive Challah's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Challah's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Challah's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Challah, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Challah's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Challah was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Challah’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Challah’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Challah’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
