About this Cat
Precious is a gentle and timid cat who is slowly building her confidence. It did take 3 months before she would even come out from underneath the futon while we were still in the room and another couple of months before she was comfortable in all parts of the house. She is now quite comfortable with us, but anyone adopting her should know that it will likely take her a long time to adjust to new home/new people. When she feels safe and comfortable, Precious is incredibly affectionate and playful. She has a great appetite and appears to be in good health. At her vet visit, a slight heart sound was noted—possibly a murmur—but it may have been due to her nerves at the time. With the right home, we’re confident Precious will continue to blossom into the loving companion she’s meant to be. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Precious was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Precious’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Precious’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Precious’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
