About this Dog
Phlox continues to improve with his house training. He knows he needs to go outsidenow to do his business and for the most part is about 90% there now. He does want togo outside during the night, which is a good thing in lieu of wetting the floor like hepreviously would. Phlox loves playing with his toys and carrying his blanket with himaround the house. He still confuses clothes and shoes left on the floor as toys but hey, this can viewed as a good thing promoting better housekeeping habits by his people. He also loves going for car rides and sits on the passenger seat looking out the windowand does not try to climb in the driver’s seat. Phlox had a vet appointment to evaluate his cherry eye and has been scheduled tohave this condition corrected on July 24th. He is currently receiving a topical ointmentin his cherry eye to promote tear production, and it is not known yet if this will be anongoing requirement until after his surgery is completed and healed. In addition tocorrecting his eye, he will also have two extra incisor teeth removed and a herniatedumbilical cord repaired at this time. MARS will cover the cost of these procedures andany medications required as a result; however, if it is determined his topical ointment willneed to continue, this will be at his new owner’s expense after adoption. Phlox, or Buster as his foster family has been calling him, will still not walk on a leash. He has been going for walks in the park with his foster’s other dogs; however, not on aleash. He follows very closely with the group but freezes up if a leash is attached to hiscollar. To help him adjust, he is leashed in the backyard when let out to play or do hisbusiness. At first, he is hesitant to move but then forgets the leash is attached andplays as if it is not there. Because of this issue, a fenced in yard is required for adoptioncurrently. He has really bonded with one of his foster’s dogs and loves to roll and tussle with her.He has improved in sharing space on the bed and couch with the other dogs in thehouse and now shares the dog beds and couch with several of them. He would do wellin a home with another dog or as a single dog. Adopt Phlox and Receive Phlox's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Phlox's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Phlox's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Phlox, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Phlox's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Phlox was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Phlox’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Phlox’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Phlox’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
