Leo is a 4-month-old shepherd mix with the cutest floppy ears, soulful eyes, and some seriously big paws—so we think he’s going to be a big boy when he grows up! Right now, he weighs about 20 pounds and is all puppy love and potential.Leo had a rough start to life. He was found all alone under an abandoned home on the Lake Traverse Reservation in South Dakota. But despite his rocky beginning, this sweet boy is full of love and curiosity. He’s a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, his gentle and playful personality shines through.Leo absolutely adores other dogs and gets along great with cats too. He’s crate trained, sleeping quietly through the night, and is making great progress on his potty training.If you're looking for a loyal companion who’s ready to grow up by your side, Leo might be your perfect match. He’s got a heart full of love and a lifetime of tail wags to give!Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Leo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Leo’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Leo’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Leo’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
