About this Dog
Hello! I’m Velma, a beautifully statuesque young adult female Shepherd mix with the most gorgeous solid black coat EVER!! I love eating treats, exploring, playing with and chewing on toys, going on leashed walks, frolicking with my pals at the dog park, and getting love & attention from my people! I don’t like being left alone and do have what my humans call separation anxiety. We are working on it, but I will need more practice and patience in my forever home. I have not met any kids or cats. I am, however, a very friendly, smart, eager-to-please girl who is not only potty, crate, and leash trained but I know several commands like “sit”, “stay”, “come”, “kennel/crate”, and “outside”. Hey, speaking of outside…I would LOVE a fenced yard because frankly, for an energetic/athletic gal like me, the freedom is too wonderful to give up! If not, I will require some walks or runs to get my energy out and need a Forever Home committed to that. Anyway, I am a very sweet, well-mannered girl who is looking for a bestie like YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. I assure you that I will love you bigger than life if you simply welcome me into your world! Love, Velma **Obedience classes are required when adopting this dog from Underdog Rescue. Many of our dogs have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this dog has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach dogs the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your dog while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this dog before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! P lease note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***

Adopt Velma and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Velma's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Velma's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Velma, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Velma's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Velma was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Velma’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.
Learn more about it on youtube or at dogecoin.com.
We want the Velma’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Velma’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
