When Heron arrived at the shelter, his long black coat was matted, and his body too thin—signs of a life that hadn't been easy. He was scared, unsure, and overwhelmed... but even then, there wasn’t a hint of aggression in him. Just quiet uncertainty. And eyes that seemed to plead: “Please be kind to me.”Now safe in our care, Heron is slowly beginning to bloom. He’s still gaining weight, and his gorgeous coat is being restored with the love and care he’s always deserved. What hasn’t needed fixing, though, is his sweet and endearing nature. Heron may not rush into your lap, but he leans into gentle kindness with a quiet trust that will melt your heart.He’s not flashy or bold—but if you’re looking for a meaningful connection with a cat who just wants to be safe, seen, and loved, Heron is ready to begin that journey with you.Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. After we have verified the adoption, Heron ~Adoption Center Cat~’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
