Pronto is an 12-pound Mini Dachshund with soulful eyes, a gentle heart, and a love for the simple things—like sunshine, soft grass, and a cozy dog friend to follow around. This sweet boy is still learning that people can be kind, so he’s shy with humans at first. But with patience, he begins to open up, showing a quiet affection and a love of cuddling that will absolutely melt your heart. Once he trusts you, he’ll gladly curl up beside you for a nap and may even sneak in a kiss or two. Pronto is still working on potty training and leash skills - he has come a long way in his leash training and could be ok without a fence if the walking areas are calm and quiet. He’s learning quickly from the resident dog in his foster home, and he absolutely needs another dog in his forever home to help guide him, comfort him, and show him the ropes. Bonus: He’s respectful with cats, too! While he's not too interested in toys yet, Pronto lives for relaxing outdoors and soaking up the sun like the world’s tiniest solar panel. He has a soft bark that shows up when he's left alone, so a home where someone is around most of the time would make him happiest. Pronto has already mastered stairs (go, buddy!) and is making strides in adjusting to indoor life. He’s the kind of pup who needs a little extra patience up front—but once he feels safe, he’ll reward you with devotion, cuddles, and quiet companionship. If you have a dog-friendly home with another pup and space in your heart for a shy little sunshine-lover, Pronto might just be your perfect match. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Pronto's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Pronto was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Pronto’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Pronto’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Pronto’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
