About this Dog
Meet Preacher! This one-year-old retriever mix made his way from Arkansas in June and has been bringing big smiles and bouncy energy ever since! Preacher is an enthusiastic, playful pup who thrives on activity. Whether he’s chasing after a ball (he’s still working on the “bring it back” part) or wrestling with his foster sister, Irene, he’s always up for fun. He’s the kind of dog who will make a great companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and doesn’t mind a bit of goofy puppy energy. He’s currently learning how to walk on a leash and working on his basic obedience skills. Preacher is a smart, trainable guy, but like many young dogs, he’s still figuring out how to manage his excitement. With consistency and patience, he’s sure to make great progress. Preacher is doing well with potty training when kept on a schedule. He’s also crate trained and settles in nicely—although he may get a little vocal when he sees other dogs getting attention without him (can you blame him?). He’d do well as either a solo dog or with another playful canine companion. That said, older or more laid-back dogs might need a break from his youthful antics. While he hasn’t been around children in his foster home, we recommend a household with older kids due to his enthusiastic jumping when excited. If you’re looking for an affectionate, high-energy buddy who’s eager to learn and ready to love, Preacher might be your perfect match. Submit your application today and meet your new best friend! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $550.00

Adopt Preacher and Receive Preacher's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Preacher's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Preacher's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Preacher, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Preacher's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Preacher was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Preacher’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Preacher’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Preacher’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
