About this Dog
Huxley's momma was adopted from a high kill shelter in West Texas. Her adopter was told she was fully vetted and low and behold a few weeks later out popped puppies. He and his siblings were split between us and another local MN rescue. They love other dogs and are around young children. . They are typical puppies and are very high energy. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Hi, my name is Huxley! I arrived in Minnesota in October 2024. I am a very sweet boy who loves to give kisses. I am timid around new people, but once I get to know you, I want to be best friends. I absolutely love other dogs and would love to have a dog brother or sister to play with! I have not been around cats for extended periods of time, but I really wasn't a fan. I am not a big fan of young children running as that scares me quite a bit, so I bark at them which scares both of us, so older children in the home may be a better fit. I love sleeping in my foster mom’s bed at night; she gets a pillow and I get my own! I do a pretty good job of going to the bathroom outside, but if my foster parents are at work and I have to go while I’m in my kennel, I will do that. I always have to go to the bathroom immediately after I wake up, as well as after every meal. My foster mom has me on a potty schedule, and I won’t have accidents in the house if the schedule is followed. I am an energetic boy who would benefit from a family who likes being active! My foster mom and I walk 2.5 miles about 4 times per week. I am a good walker on the leash most of the time, but if a dog is barking at me, sometimes I want to see what the noise is about! In between those walks, I play in the yard with my foster siblings! I love eating sticks and grass, so my foster mom has to supervise me. I am good in my kennel; as soon as my foster mom opens the treat jar, I will run to my crate so I can eat my treat! I love food and am a proud member of the clean plate club! I also love treats and bones! I am scared to get in the car, but if a dog friend gets in first, I will follow! However, if I’m going somewhere alone, my foster mom has to lift me in the car (all 60 pounds of me!) Once I am in the car, I am quiet and take a nap most of the time. I usually sit on the floor of the backseat where I feel most comfortable. If you’re looking to add a big dopey boy to your family, apply for me today! 100% of Huxley's balance will be sent to whoever adopts Huxley.
Adopt Huxley and Receive Huxley's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Huxley's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Huxley's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Huxley, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Huxley's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Huxley was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Huxley’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Huxley’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Huxley’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
