About this Dog
Hi, my name’s Macy, what’s yours? Poppa says I am the biggest cuddle bug ever. I may go a little overboard with the affection, but I just really love being close to my people. I do have trouble controlling my licker. It has a mind of its own, but we are working on wrangling it in. I turned 1 just before Valentine’s Day, and I would really love a family of my own for my birthday. Poppa also tells everyone I would make a great brewery dog. I’m not sure what he’s thinking, because even in dog years I’m not old enough to drink. The few times he did go to the breweries I was a perfect lady, laid quietly by mom and dad, was polite to all the dogs and people I met. Maybe that’s why. I’ve had a couple foster brothers who I love to play with. I’m pretty good at matching their energy level. If they want to just hang out, we can do that. But if they want to play, I can keep up with them. I haven’t met a dog or person I didn’t like. I’ve learned to go in my kennel when asked. However, I don’t really want to be in there, because that means I’m not close to you. I do cry a bit at first, but then settle down. I’m also fully potty trained, even on long work days. Although, sometimes, if I’ve been in my kennel too long and I don’t calm down before coming out of the kennel, there might be a tiny oops. My favorite thing is to run up to my person, lean against their leg and roll over for belly rubs. When I do that poppa says "I just can't". Not sure what he can't because he never finishes the sentence, but I like to think that he just can't get enough of me doing that. Poppa here. Macy is a very sweet affectionate puppy. She just turned 1 year recently, and wow is she learning. She loves to cuddle up and roll over for belly rubs. Before rescue, she was in an overcrowded shelter and on "the list" so I'm pretty sure she didn't get the training a puppy would normally get in those first few months. Thankfully, she was pulled from the shelter right before her number came up. Ok, enough with the past. She is just the happiest girl. She loves to be near us and play with her foster brother. I think the 2 of them could play all day. Her tummy does get nervous on car rides. She most likely didn't have any good car rides with good outcomes before. She is getting better. We had another dog who was terrified of car rides, but after a while she realized she wasn’t being abandoned and started loving them, so I think Macy will also. She loves to go for walks as much as she likes to snuggle. We are working on leash manners. She doesn't pull hard, but she is very excited to see everything. We are working on that with the trainer, so I am sure she will master that soon also. We took her to a few rescue events at breweries and I was just in awe at how naturally well behaved she was. She laid at our feet for an hour or more while we talked with folks and didn’t need to be bride with treats or anything. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00
