About this Dog

Name: Jax Nicknames: Jaxey Age or Date of Birth: 5 years DOB: 10/02/16 Activity Level: Most would probably consider me a high activity dog, but really I would be just as happy, if not more, with needs being met with affection and cuddles on the couch as I would being outside and active. When I hear a noise, I am always curious and race to inspect it. When I see another animal, I get VERY excited, pace about and bark. Things I do in my free time: I would LOVE to cuddle, get pets and attention, and be at my owners side all day long. I love rawhides and a Kong filled with peanut butter. Eating is my absolute favorite - I’m VERY food motivated. I sleep a lot during the day. Things I know: Sit, Lay, Shake, Stay (but I don’t always obey by this one especially if I’m really excited about something like other dogs). I will sit and wait for someone to set down my food bowl before eating. I’m potty trained very well (I’ve never had an accident in the house). I am crate trained and will go directly into it if you have a treat in your hand. I also would LOVE to sleep in your bed with you, but I don’t with my current owners because they taught me not to. Things I am learning/currently working on: Not to lick people, but it’s just so tempting! My owners wish they had more training experience for my socializing and leash struggles, but we haven’t tried to work with a professional before. Who I currently live with (humans and animals): Two adults, an 18 month old baby, and a 5 year old dog. How I do with kids: I love bigger kids. As long as they can cuddle me and pet me, I’m in love. If you can manage my size, you won’t find many dogs as affectionate as me. Babies and toddlers are tricky for me. I mean well, but they can’t avoid my face licks as well as adults and aren’t as sturdy if I bump into them when I move about. My owner’s nieces and nephews who are in Middle and High school absolutely love me. How I do with dogs: Not so well if they are strangers, especially if I’m on a leash. My owners think I have leash aggression. When I’m at a dog park and see another dog, I like to run up to them as fast as I can, and I catch them off guard. If another dog barks at me or chases me, I do it back and don’t back down. My owners tried to socialize me early on, but many dogs don’t like my squirrely play and react to me unless they are very tolerant, so my owners have found that keeping me around the house is less stressful. I live with a 30 lb Pitbull/Rat Terrier mix girl dog, and we get along well after initial adjusting. We will cuddle, but we will also wrestle. However, when I’ve been away from her, I don’t seem to miss her at all. How I do with cats: I was once at a house with a cat and I was curious, but the cat stayed away from me. I’m not really sure what I would do with a cat. My current size: 55lbs How I do in my kennel: Awesome. I don’t seem to mind being in it, and I go into it immediately if you have a treat in your hand. However, don’t put anything I can chew or suck on in there with me like a mat or a toy. I’ll eventually destroy it while I'm hanging out so a blanket or towel you don’t care about is best (I generally don’t have issues with things around the house though). How I do in car rides: Perfect! I love them and will gladly jump right in! Both my parents have SUVs, so I love that the trunk is like my own little car crate. I once took a road trip to the Colorado Rockies and back. It was a 10 day trip and I loved every minute of it. Am I house trained?: Absolutely! I’ve never had an accident in the house. Additional Info from foster: I just live for affection and attention, so if I can be the focal point of your home, you’ll see me at my best. When it was just me and my owners, they were able to really love me up and give me all the cuddles I could ask for. Now with the baby, they have to give a lot of attention to her, and I’m not getting as much now. That’s making me really needy, and I don’t know when to stop. I also get very excited sometimes, and I forget how big I am compared to the baby. My owners nieces and nephew who are older kids come to visit sometimes, and I LOVE them. My favorite thing to do is lay in someone's lap while they pet my neck. I’ve been told many times that I think I’m a lap dog. :) I also turn heads and always get comments on my beautiful brindle coat. My owners are letting me take all my things: crate, leash, bowls, toys, etc. so all we need to do is pick up some food on the way home!

Adopt Jax and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Jax's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Jax receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Jax, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Jax's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Jax was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Jax’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What is Dogecoin?

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Jax’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Jax’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
