Stella arrived from the city pound on 7/24/25, after her legal hold was finished and no one had claimed her. She is most likely 1 to 2 years old and appears to be a shepherd/husky mix, but there could be some other breeds in there, too. She's a little shy at first but is very nice once she feels comfortable. She has been fully vetted and microchipped and her fee is $150. Stella seems to be pretty well mannered and intelligent. She has had a bit of basic training but would be willing to learn more. She's a younger dog who will require regular exercise. Huskies and their mixes are sometimes known as runners, so a secure environment would be best for Stella. We do think she'd do okay with nice male dogs but have no way of knowing about cats. Kids? We think older kids would be fine. Note: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Stella was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Stella’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Stella’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Stella’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
