About this Dog
Maddie is a 2 year old Cane Corso/lab mix who came to our shelter after she went unclaimed at the city pound. We have been able to piece together her history after receiving information from people who knew her former owner. That's why we know her real name. Maddie was very loved by her former owner but he was unable to really care for her properly. She has been vet checked, chipped, and spayed and her fee is $150. Maddie is a shy dog and does take time to warm up to new people. She bonds very closely to her person/people and is very protective. This is part of the nature of the Cane Corso breed as they are known as guardians. She talks a big talk but comes around nicely with sweet talk and treats. She loves stuffed toys! That's how we won her over while she was at the pound. She knows some basic commands and is pretty well mannered. Maddie has done well with other dogs. She has also coexisted with cats. We're thinking she'd do best in an adult only home. Teens should be fine. Maddie does need a firm and experienced owner as she is quite strong. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.

Adopt Maddie and Receive Maddie's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Maddie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Maddie's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Maddie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Maddie's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Maddie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Maddie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Maddie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Maddie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
