About this Cat

Two bonded feral cats have been living around a rarely used building at a hospital campus for their entire lives. Over the years, a few hospital employees have cared for these outdoor cats through all seasons providing an under porch shelter, food and water. New hospital ownership and management appears not to understand community cats and how they are tied to their territory. The security has been removing any shelter, food and water for these 2 bonded and fixed cats. I have already homed another two cats (who were probably strays) from the same sight and have had success in socializing them indoors. But Tuxedo and Fluffy are outdoor cats who would do well in a rural or barn cat setting. They would need to be acclimated 2-4 weeks in a large dog crate in their new environment until they acclimate to their new environment. They need to be kept together because they are so closely bonded, they eat together, sleep together and rub up next to each other and walk together. If you have it in your heart to give these cats a home, I would be there every step of the way, providing the large dog crate, bowls, litter box and hiding carriers for them as part of the set up to get them acclimated. Ideally, these cats would do best in the territory they know and are accustomed to as they know safe places to hide in their known territory etc. However, it seems certain security personnel at the hospital do not like or understand cats and want to evict them by removing their provided shelter, food and water. I feel that their best chance would be with guardians who love, understand and want to work on giving these 2 beautiful cats a fair chance in a safe environment where they are not threatened and deprived of basic needs. How will Tuxedo and Fluffy receive the contribution?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Tuxedo and Fluffy, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Tuxedo and Fluffy's contribution here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Tuxedo and Fluffy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Tuxedo and Fluffy’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Tuxedo and Fluffy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Tuxedo and Fluffy’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
