Dixie and her brother Clarke had a very rough start. As very tiny kittens, they were found in the middle of the night during the worst snowstorm of last winter running across Dixie Highway in Clarkston. Thankfully, someone managed to see these very tiny kittens and saved them. Dixie is so pretty, these pictures don’t do her justice. She loves having a lot of different toys to choose from and loves playing with all of them. Since Clarke has been adopted, we realize she definitely needs to have another feline sibling to play with, but she also loves spending time with her humans! She needs patience to get to know you and someone experienced with cats. She’s been with the rescue her whole life….Now it’s her time to find her forever home. All of our cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested for FIV/FELV , and up to date on vaccinations including rabies, distemper, and dewormer. You can meet some of our adorable cats and kittens during store hours at PetSmart, 385 Haggerty Rd. in Commerce Township. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Dixie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Dixie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Dixie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Dixie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Dixie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
