About this Dog
Opie’s story is nothing short of incredible. He was found roaming the county with 6 other dogs, all abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Sadly, when they were brought into a rural shelter, Opie was the only one given a second chance. Just before his time ran out, MAD Rescue stepped in and saved him.Not long after arriving in foster care, Opie was hit with a devastating diagnosis—distemper. He endured months of intense treatment, daily shots, oral meds, and round-the-clock care. Through it all, Opie’s gentle, loving spirit never wavered. Today, he has fully recovered, tested negative, and is healthier than ever! Now, Opie is ready to find his forever family.Walks like a pro on leashFantastic with kids of all agesLives peacefully with dogs & cats (just needs supervision with shy cats)Crate and house trainedLow drive with a wonderful “off switch”Opie is the kind of dog who thrives just being by your side—whether it’s a hike, a movie night with popcorn, or even “helping” you in the garage.
