About this Dog
Sawyer loves to please and cuddle, and is highly trainable and affectionate. She has a lot of energy and will get into mischief without enough mental stimulation. She is good with other dogs, likes to play fight with cats, and prefers older children that will play but not pull/grab/sneak up on her like toddlers tend to do. It is important to note that Sawyer is not fond of strangers and has shown fear/anxiety-based reactivity including having bit one human. Her current trainer says, “She’s a project but I really think she’s got potential given time and work. I don’t feel she’s a lost cause.” Sawyer is also a submissive pee-er and gets car sick. We care for Sawyer a lot. So much so that we have to admit that we are not capable of giving her what she needs to be her best self, especially since welcoming a baby. Sawyer needs a loving and caring household that has the time and resources to continue her training - in session and at home - ideally, with her current trainer.

How will Sawyer receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Sawyer, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Sawyer's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Sawyer was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Sawyer’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Sawyer’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Sawyer’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
