About this Cat
Bailey is an indoor cat and about four years old. She has behavioral issues that have made it too much for my family to keep her. She is not a fan of living with our other cats and only tolerates one of them. She likes to pee on countertops and in box-like areas or on clothes. I am unsure if she just doesn’t like the litter or type of boxes we have as she developed this habit about a year ago, after we made multiple changes to our setup, or if she just doesn’t enjoy sharing with three other male cats. Other than her issue with peeing, she is a reclusive but affectionate cat. The only time she willingly follows me is when I go to the bathroom; otherwise she likes to scurry away or hiss when she sees anyone walking toward her. She is all bark and no bite, though. The growling and hissing she does do is all for show, to communicate she is displeased or perhaps startled. I have been able to brush her and give her a bath with no real biting or scratching. I believe she would do better in a home without as many cats, or one with more ability to retrain her behaviors. She was fully litter box trained for a few years before this started, so she likely is just being fussy, but I don’t have the capacity to accommodate her anymore.

How will Bailey receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Bailey, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Bailey's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bailey was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bailey’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Bailey’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bailey’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
