About this Cat
Meet Chip, a 4-year-old feline with a mellow personality. He's a friendly soul, though a bit on the shy side. He prefers a slow approach, but once he warms up, his affectionate nature shines. Chip enjoys quiet moments, lounging around, and is always up for a gentle petting session. His unique quirk? He's not a fan of brooms. They seem to spook him a bit. Chip is FIV+. If you don't know what FIV is, it stands for feline immunodeficiency virus and typically causes a weakening of the cat’s immune system... only cats can get FIV, people and dogs cannot. The most common route of infection is a deep bite wound from an FIV+ cat to another cat... they can live with other non FIV + cats- sharing food/litter/water without transmitting the disease onto other cats. FIV isn't a big deal... unfortunately many FIV+ cats are overlooked in shelters because people see this and think it's a terrible disease and the cats won't live long... However FIV+ cats can live long healthy lives just like other cats! There is no medication to treat an FIV+ positive cat. Adopting Chip means providing him a loving home where he can flourish, away from brooms, and filled with affection. Chip deserves a chance at a forever home, offering love and companionship to his new family. If you are interested in adopting, applications can be found on our website www.ahimsahaven.org. Meet and greets are with an approved application by appointment only. As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.

Adopt Chip and Receive Chip's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Chip's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Chip's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Chip, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Chip's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Chip was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Chip’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Chip’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Chip’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
