About this Dog
Meet Gingersnap! This 1-year old charismatic cookie has so much sweetness to her that she might just smell like Christmas! Ginger is exactly what you would expect from a 1-year old pup…spunky, energetic, eager to learn, friendly, and loving. She’s got a little spice to her personality, but her sugary cinnamon sweetness ultimately takes over (and she gives the softest kisses!). Ginger has some energy, and can entertain herself by playing alone, but snuggling might be her favorite pastime. She loves, loves, loves the water and is gathering the courage to go fully into the family pool. She will hold a running hose in her mouth and thinks bathtime is the best. Ginger is great in the car and on a leash, loves all toys, and is crate-trained and house-trained. She even rings her dog bell to let you know she needs to use the ladies room. Ginger’s original owners love her to pieces, but she doesn’t get along with the other female dog in the house. This can be a common occurrence with two female pups and is why we have a policy against same gender placement. Our policy can receive criticism, mostly from individuals who have not personally experienced the challenges and heartbreak that can arise from having two females fighting in their home. But this situation is exactly why we have it. And though Ginger successfully lived with two male dogs, we do feel as if she would do best as an only dog. She is great when encountering dogs while out and about, but that doesn’t mean she should live with one. She had a slow introduction to a dog-savvy cat and did well, so living with a cat could be a possibility for her with slow intros. Ginger is a typical supermutt, who clearly has the best traits from multiple breeds, and has such beautiful and unique markings! With her sparkling sugar coat and those ginger-colored goggles, she is a cutie pie! And at 42 lbs is the perfect size. Gingersnap loves people and has extensive experience living with kids of all ages. Because of this history, respectful kids of all ages would be great with this sweet treat! We think she would LOVE some 2-legged siblings. Gingersnap’s top 3 priorities: 1. Ginger would love to be the only pet the home, so she doesn’t have to share her humans or her toys with anyone else. But don’t worry – she has more than enough love to give! 2. Ginger would love to be part of a family and part of the action. She doesn’t care if you go on a 5-mile hike together or sit on the couch all day watching reruns. As long as she can be with her humans when they are home, she is happy! 3. Ginger is smart and treat-motivated and would love training or enrichment games for some extra fun in the week.

Adopt Gingersnap and Receive Gingersnap's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Gingersnap's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Gingersnap's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Gingersnap, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Gingersnap's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Gingersnap was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Gingersnap’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Gingersnap’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Gingersnap’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
