About this Dog
Smoke is participating in the fee waived adoption event sponsored by the MSPCA from Mon 8/18 - Sat 8/23!Smoke is a big dog that loves to roam around the yard and sniff out whatever news he might have missed! He prefers to be independent in regards to other animals and people, but will still seek out affection when he wants it. He would likely do best in a semi-active home as an only dog.OTHER PETS: Smoke is intense when seeing other dogs, and would likely be happier as the only dog in a home environment. [Only Pet--NO CATS]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Smoke would likely do best in an active home with someone that has experience positively managing and supporting strong dogs. Through positive reinforcement training, he may need help in learning how to exist neutrally when passing by other dogs. [Some Experience]KIDS: Smoke is a dog that likes to show his love in a big way. He may jump up sometimes to greet people, and currently pulls on the leash during walks - both can be helped with positive reinforcement and practice. He would likely do best with kids that are old enough to be able to handle him and not be knocked over easily. [10+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: While Smoke does enjoy the time he gets to relax, he's also fond of spending time exercising with his people. With further positive reinforcement training, he would likely be a great candidate for more adventurous activities like hiking, or even dog sports with vet approval. To meet all his needs he will need a combination of regular exercise and plenty of mental enrichment. [Good Walking Buddy]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Depending on his new family's preferences, Smoke may need help learning how to walk loosely on leash and greeting people from the ground (strong on leash). Positive reinforcement training will help Smoke not only learn his basic cues & skills, but also help him to bond with his new owner. [Moderate]GROOMING: [Minimal]

100% of SMOKE's balance will be sent to whoever adopts SMOKE.
Adopt SMOKE and Receive SMOKE's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, SMOKE's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is SMOKE's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the SMOKE, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming SMOKE's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and SMOKE was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, SMOKE’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the SMOKE’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, SMOKE’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
