Meet Owlette, "Owl" for short. Owlette is an amazing, cuddly, hound-mix puppy. She is adorably playful and bouncy--loves to run, jump, chew on sticks (and all the things that will ease her teething, baby shark mouth*). Owlette adores play restling with her foster sister, and going on walks and running in green space with her other dog friends.She's very bright & curious. Likes observing other animal friends--watches birds, watches bunnies, likes to see squirrels; isn't aggressively driven to seek them out/chase them though. Owl makes the best facial expressions--just look at her pictures.When Owlette is in calm snuggle-mode, she love gentle massages and kisses from her people (anyone who shows friendly interest in her is her people). She has snuggled and given kisses to adults and children, alike. (and allll the dog friends too).For a young puppy, she's incredibly good at leash walking. She's crate trained and doing well with potty training (she uses puppy pads in the house and does her business outside). Already knowns "sit", working on "down" and "paw", which she'll learn quickly since she is food motivated.Owlette makes life better. Come see if she might be your new soul-dog. In the meantime, it is a priviledge to be her foster mom.*Disclaimer on teething baby puppies: like most puppies Owlette's age, her access to things that you don't want chewed on (e.g., pillows, electrical wires, shoes) should be closely supervised or blocked. She soothes her shark jaw with a rotation of rubbery kong teethers, frozen rope toys & and tyed wash-cloths, etc. :)Info on Owlette Prior to her transport to MA: Owlette is a true hound, always, sniffing, digging, and investigating! She also enjoys playing with her brother so would do well in a home with another dog. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Owlette was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Owlette’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Owlette’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Owlette’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
