Your adventure buddy is waiting! Meet Dixie – this handsome boy is still looking for his forever family. Could it be you? At ~11 months old and around 40lbs, Dixie is a loving and affectionate pup who will thrive with an active family and a solid routine! If you love the outdoors, Dixie is your guy! He loves to play fetch and is excellent at bringing the ball back and dropping it for the next round. This energetic boy has even discovered the joys of the beach! He's a social butterfly who loves people and playing with other dogs, and does well supervised with feline friends. Dixie is eager to learn and responds well to clear, consistent guidance and positive, treat-based training. He's already housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, and sleeps soundly in his crate at night. *Dixie is in foster care on Martha’s Vineyard. Potential adopters must be willing to travel to the island if not currently residing there. No car needed on the ferry!* This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Dixie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Dixie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Dixie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Dixie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Dixie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
