About this Dog
Meet Hershey! Looking for a fun-loving pup with a zest for life and a heart as big as his smile? Say hello to Hershey, a 2-year-old, 50 lb. mutt with a charming personality and a can-do attitude! Hershey was rescued from a high-kill shelter in the south where it was discovered he had a “wonky” back leg likely the result of an old, untreated injury near his growth plate. One leg is a bit shorter than the others, and he’ll sometimes hold it up when he’s tired. While he may need an amputation someday, right now he’s doing great and doesn’t let it slow him down! In his foster home, Hershey has been a star student – he’s had no accidents, is crate trained, and even does well when left home uncrated. He loves going for leashed walks and runs, and would thrive in a home that can give him regular outlets for his energy. Hershey could join a home with kids 10+ and other active dogs, but no cats please--they’re just a little too exciting for him. A fenced yard would be a big plus to help him burn off energy and enjoy the outdoors safely. His foster says, "Hershey is such a sweet and goofy boy! He's medium energy and is the perfect combination of playful and couch-potato. He enjoys his daily walks, but is then content spending the rest of the day snuggled beside you on the couch. He's a smart boy and quickly learned basic commands such as sit, lay down, come, and wait. He walks with a limp due to a previous injury, but doesn't let this slow him down! He loves running around the yard and wrestling with our other pup throughout the day. He also does great in the car and loves going for rides. We can't wait to see Hershey living his best life with his forever family!" He is available for adoption in Hopkinton or Framingham, MA by appointment. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step. -Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises. -Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt. - More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

Adopt Hershey and Receive Hershey's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Hershey's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Hershey's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Hershey, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Hershey's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Hershey was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Hershey’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Hershey’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Hershey’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
