About this Dog
Meet Kacee! Say hello to Kacee, a 6-month-old, 31 lb. mixed breed pup who might have a bit of Collie in her lineage—and definitely has a heart full of love. Found as a stray down in Alabama, she’s now getting her first real taste of home life in foster care and slowly learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. In her local foster home, Kacee is doing great with house training and crate training, but leash walking is still a brand-new concept for her. She is very shy and will need an experienced, patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. Because of this, a fenced-in yard is a must, as she’s not yet comfortable on walks and feels safest in secure outdoor spaces. Kacee gains a lot of confidence from her canine companions, so she would do best in a home with at least one playful, dog-social pup to help show her the ropes. She could also go to a home with cats and teenagers who can give her the gentle encouragement she needs. If you’ve got a soft spot for the underdog and the patience to help a timid pup blossom, Kacee is ready to find safety and love in your home. Her foster says, "Kacee is very sweet and loving! She loves to be outside! If it was up to her she would spend all day every day outside. She watches the birds and butterflies and naps! She is crate trained but does whine a little bit. She does eventually quiet down. She is almost potty trained with very few accidents! The leash training has been a challenge. I think it scares her. She will need more work on that. She sleeps on her crate blanket during the day and at night. It gives her comfort. She does have food and toy guarding. She just grumbles when one of the other dogs get too close while she has a toy. I feed her by herself in a room with a puppy gate, but if one of the other dogs come to the door she will grumble. She has never gotten aggressive with any of the other dogs. She loves our cat Milo! They get along great! She needs a quiet home by herself or with a cat. She needs lots of love and affection with positive reinforcement. She loves feeding time and treats too! With time she will be a great addition to a family!" She is available for adoption by appointment in Hopkinton, MA. Adopt Kacee and Receive Kacee's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Kacee's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Kacee's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Kacee, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Kacee's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Kacee was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Kacee’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Kacee’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Kacee’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
