About this Cat
MEET SOPHIE! Loves Her Play Time!It can be difficult for a senior cat to adjust to a new place after being in only one home for so long, so Sophie is finding shelter life a little challenging. However, we are starting to see this beautiful lady's playful personality emerge! Sophie isn't looking for a big fuss to me made, she just wants a quiet space of her own, with a bed to sleep on and windows to gaze out of! This sweet girl isn't yet up for pets so she's looking for someone who has experience living with a cat with a similar personality. Sophie mostly prefers to hang out on her cat tree and people watch but will almost always come out of her den to eat some treats you've thrown or bat at a wand toy. Sometimes she'll even sit near you and groom herself! Sophie would likely do best in an adult only home without other animals. Please note that Sophie will require multiple meets before she can go home and that your visits will likely be hands off.Sophie is currently up to date on vaccinations and flea and tick preventative, has been spayed, microchipped, and examined by our vet team. For more information on Sophie or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.

Adopt SOPHIE and Receive SOPHIE's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, SOPHIE's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is SOPHIE's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the SOPHIE, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming SOPHIE's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and SOPHIE was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, SOPHIE’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the SOPHIE’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, SOPHIE’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
