Astro was born on 8/2/2022, one of Asia's puppies. He was adopted in November 2022 at 3 months old. Astro is a good boy and gets along with other dogs, likes to take walks and greets others with a wagging tail. He is good at walking on his leash and does not pull. He currently weighs about 60 lbs. Some other things about Astro: loves car rides. taking walks. swim, he enjoys stealing shoes and socks but will give them back, he likes toys and treats and takes treats gently. He may be a bit too interested in cats and may chase them. He also has some prey drive for squirrels and rabbits. His adopters feed their dogs separately so as not to take any chances with resource guarding with other dogs. His owners are able to pet him while he eats. Astro needs to be rehomed with a family that is a better fit. Astro good with adults and older considerate children. He gets very over simulated by a lot of playing, loud noises and children running around. Astro enjoys going for car rides and he's a wonderful snuggler!! He also attaches himself to his human and if something causes him to become anxious over that person being spoken to loudly or if he is concerned they might be in harm he will also react. His owners keep him separated from these conditions as much as possible but feel it is not fair to Astro to need to be away so much. Overall, Astro is a great dog and just needs the right family dynamics so he can enjoy life with his humans. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Astro was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Astro’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Astro’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Astro’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
