Axl (watch my video!) Male, neutered 1 year and 8 months old Pit Bull Terrier 61 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Good with dogs Axl was found as a stray and ended up on the notorious "urgent list" at the Prince Georges County animal shelter. Luckily, Lovepaws Rescue took Axl into their care and gave him a second chance at life! At just 1 year and 8 months old, Axl is in the prime of his life! He’s the perfect combination of playful charm and curious intelligence, with just the right touch of goofiness to keep you smiling. With the energy of a teenager and the heart of a loyal friend, Axl brings enthusiasm to everything he does! He is known for his signature full-body cuddles and has rightfully earned the title of Master Cuddler! Whether he's lounging in the sun, watching the neighborhood from his second-story window perch, catching treats mid-air, or playing hide-and-seek (hint: check the closet laundry basket or under the bed), he’s always up for a good time! Axl is not just about fun though! He is house-trained, crate-trained, and completed a 5-week professional training program where he learned commands such as: Sit, Stay, Come, Place, Heel, and Crate. He patiently waits for his meals and for his cue before heading outdoors. He is currently working on commands like: Down and Paw and has come a long way with getting used to his paws being touched. He is still working on leash manners and is getting used to his nails being trimmed. Axl's adopter will be provided with a complimentary training session from his trainer. Axl does well with other dogs after proper introductions and some time to adjust and learn the house rules. He thrives in a calm, structured home with patient, dog-savvy humans who are willing to continue reinforcing his training and who appreciate a dog with personality and heart. Due to his enthusiastic style of affection, Axl would do best in a home without children. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Axl was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Axl’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Axl’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Axl’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
