About this Dog
Monty-at-a-glance: 1 year old, 67 lbs, neutered male Pit Bull Terrier. Up-to-date on core vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. Monty takes monthly flea/tick/heart worm prevention. Monty was saved from euthanasia at the PG county shelter just in the nick of time. He arrived at the shelter as a stray with 5 other dogs and was given the name “Nameless" by the shelter. While we don’t know anything about Monty's past, we do know Monty was lucky to make it out alive because not all of them did, due to the Prince George's County county-wide pit bull ban. Buckle up because Monty is a trip! Yes, he’s beautiful, but don’t let that fool you because this guy has the brains to match, too! Monty is crate and potty trained and LOVES scratches! Butt scratches, belly scratches, scratches on his ham hock head, he loves ‘em all! Monty really enjoys playing fetch and actually brings the ball back each time (unless he’s had enough then he lays down for a break) and is working on “drop it” but always allows his foster parents to take it if he forgets. Monty has already learned “sit” “look” and “crate” and is working on learning “place” next. He's such a smart boy! He's still figuring out leash manners and, while he often checks in with his handler, he still pulls a bit, which his foster parents are working on with him. Monty will benefit from a handler who continues to set boundaries and will work with him to perfect his acquired skills. Monty is very treat motivated and is eager to learn. Monty loves sticks and will gladly stop for a quick chomp or ask to take one back home for later! It's pretty adorable! Monty has met his doggy foster siblings and has been cordial and playful after proper decompression and slow introductions. Monty is very curious about cats and while he’s uninterested when engaged in his own play/enrichment, he would benefit with much slower introductions/exposure to small animals. In summary, Monty is a big, squishy, meat head with the most loving eyes who loves to just melt in your lap and can’t wait to spend his life adventuring with his forever person(s)! Monty is neutered, up-to-date on core vaccines, microchipped and heart worm negative! Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Submit an application here!

Adopt Monty and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Monty's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Monty's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Monty, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Monty's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Monty was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Monty’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Monty’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Monty’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
