About this Dog
KIARA IS A COURTESY POST - IF INTERESTED, EMAIL INFO@PETEY&FURENDS.ORG Name: Kiara Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 6 years old Best Guess for Breed: Collie/German Shepherd Mix Weight: About 55 lbs Good With: Dogs and People! We haven’t seen her with cats yet, but happy to test her out! She would do best in a home as an only dog without small kids since she gets startled easily. Story: Kiara was rescued from the war in Ukraine and we are posting her on behalf of a community member. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Kiara is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Even though she’s an adult dog, Kiara will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! PERFECT FAMILY: Kiara’s perfect family is a quiet home with 1-2 adults. Although she is very sweet and gentle, she gets easily startled by unexpected movements and loud noises; as a result, we recommend she not go to a home with children. She craves love and attention and would be happiest as the only dog to soak up all the attention from her adopter(s). However, she does get along with other dogs in her foster home. She has not been cat-tested. PERFECT HOME: A quiet home away from the busy city. Kiara is vocal when anyone arrives, so she would not be a good fit for apartment living. She loves running around in her foster’s fenced-in backyard, but because she is not a high-energy dog, a yard is not required as long as she can have a daily walk. EXERCISE NEEDS: Kiara is a medium energy dog. She loves to play fetch and tug of war and run around in the yard. On walks, she moves at an easy, leisurely pace. She is great on the leash but can sometimes be leash-reactive when seeing another dog, but bringing a few treats with you during walks is usually enough to distract her. BEHAVIOR IN HOME: Kiara is very loving, gentle, and eager to please. She is incredibly smart and super treat-motivated, making her a dream student for training. She knows sit, down, stay, come, shake, drop it, and go to bed—and is eager to learn more. She loves, loves, love to be pet. She is happy to curl up by your feet wherever you are and often sleeps covering her eyes with her paw, which we find adorable. She is fully potty trained and has not chewed on anything other than her bones in her foster home. Having escaped the war in Ukraine, she is easily startled by loud noises or sudden movements but has made huge progress on this. She is a little uneasy around new people at first but warms up very quickly, especially if you give her a treat, and then will not leave your side. Her soulful eyes just melt your heart. She has been through so much and deserves a loving forever home. If you think that Kiara might be your perfect match, please email [email protected].

Adopt KIARA and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, KIARA's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is KIARA's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the KIARA, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming KIARA's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and KIARA was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, KIARA’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the KIARA’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, KIARA’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
