About this Dog
Jazz-at-a-glance: 3-1/2 year old, female, spayed, Pit Bull Terrier, 45 lbs., up-to-date on core vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. Jazz takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Jazz is allergic to multiple food ingredients (we have an exact list) so we're working to find food and treats that she tolerates well. Jazzy J was in rough shape when we brought her into LOVEPAWS Rescue. When we pulled her from the shelter she was extremely sick with pneumonia and very pregnant with 9 puppies, so we took her straight to the ER where she spent a few days getting treatment. A week after she arrived in her foster home, she gave birth to 9 beautiful babies, all of which were adopted at 9 weeks of age. She was the perfect mama to her puppies and finally, she could rest and her body could start recovering from all she had been through, but unfortuantely she then experienced a botched spay surgery that required life-saving repair surgery and tons of crate rest. This girl has been through so much and deserves the world! Jazz is a total sweetheart. She comes out of her kennel in the morning excited to take on the day. After 10 minutes of playing and breakfast, she's ready for her first nap of the day. Jazz has great enthusiasm for adventure but can also just chill for hours at a time. Foster mom's favorite thing about her is that she doesn't give kisses, but instead boops you with her nose. It's very endearing. She also has big paws for such a petite girl and when she runs she looks like a clumsy hippo-puppy. She loves to jump up and double high five every one she meets, but she's working hard to keep four on the floor when meeting new friends. Jazz lives with a canine foster brother, who she desperately wants to play with, but foster bro thinks she's too extra. Jazz could do well with a canine sibling who is also playful and/or willing to give corrections so she learns dog to dog manners. She's a typical little sister and is learning that she can't just take whatever bone foster brother has! Jazz is a solid and lovable dog that needs to continue her basic training. She's crate trained, potty trained, knows sit and house. We're perfecting stay and sitting before entering/leaving the house. She's super manageable on the leash and has been very receptive to positive reinforcement/treat training to maintain focus on her handler. Jazz's forever family will also need to continue teaching and reinforcing boundaries for her, like you can't counter surf when foster mom steps out of the kitchen or that dropped burritos on the sidewalk are not for eating. Right now we're helping Jazz gain some weight which she is very much onboard with! It means she gets an extra cup of food a day and some extra sweet potato or rice. Jazz is also a perfect angel baby in the car. She isn't vocal, just the occasional ah wooo out of excitement. She's an excellent nap + cuddle buddy. Notes from her temporary foster family: Jazz is a goofball with the most expressive face and with a head that big there is SO MUCH of it! One of the first things we learned about Jazz is that rubbing her belly calms her down. It's like flipping a light switch! She loves, LOVES, people. Especially kids. Jazz is a great leash walker, with the occasional excitement over a squirrel, deer, or other dog. When she goes on a long walk and gets tired she will lay down right in the middle of the street. She will greet you with enthusiasm, then curl up against you and go to sleep. Her snores can be heard from miles away! When you throw toys for her, she runs to them and pounces. So adorable. Jazz's dream day would include some tug & play time, followed by eating peanut butter while stretched out on her back having her belly rubbed, then curling on her human and going to sleep. Please begin the process of claiming Jazz's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Jazz was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Jazz’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
