Meet Imelda Female | Lab Mix | Born 4/5/2025 Imelda may be quiet at first, but behind those soulful eyes is a puppy ready to bloom with the right family. She was born on April 5th under heartbreaking circumstances—her mom, Coco, gave birth while tied to a tree, severely malnourished and neglected. Imelda and her siblings spent their first nine weeks surviving outside in the woods, with little human interaction and a world that felt far from safe. Now rescued and safe in foster care, Imelda is beginning to discover what love and security really feel like. She’s still learning to trust, but every day she takes brave little steps forward. She’s currently working on potty training, crate training, and getting comfortable with the everyday sounds and experiences of a real home. Imelda’s mom is a lab mix, and her dad is believed to be a chocolate lab—so she’s got a heart full of love just waiting to shine through. She’ll need a patient, kind adopter who’s committed to continuing her training and helping her feel safe as she grows. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Imelda was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Imelda’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Imelda’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Imelda’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
