About this Dog
Dawn is a wonderful dog who is so ready to be in a loving home (Hopefully with an active family or person!) ! Here are just a few words about how awesome she is from a volunteer:We had a very enjoyable time with Dawn this morning, and want to provide some information about walking with her off campus. We walked for about 60 minutes on trails at Meadowside Nature Center, and then walked at Needwood Park for about 30 minutes, with another 30 minutes of sitting on the grass and playing in the shade of a tree.Carrier: Dawn immediately recognized the carrier in the back of the car and was enthusiastic about jumping up into the back of the car and going. She traveled very well in the carrier - she was calm and quiet.Walking: For the first 30 to 45 minutes, Dawn kept a steady pull on the leash, she was excited to be out and about. After this time, it seems she had burned off enough energy that the leash was slack almost half the time, and she was pleasant to walk with.Around Dogs: We saw about 6 dogs at varying distances. When dogs passed nearby, Dawn acted like she wanted to play/greet, but she did not bark or growl. Dawn enjoys playgroups at the shelter. Around People: Initially, Dawn was very well-mannered and slightly shy, but over time she became relaxed, affectionate, and playful. At Needwood, families were setting up for a party nearby, but Dawn was more interested in playing with us.We learned that Dawn does respond to soft, smelly treats (pup-er-oni), and that she understands âsitâ. After a good walk (having burned off a little energy), I feel like she would be very trainable. She seemed to really enjoy the Kong toy and it was a great distraction when she became excited. We have some fun videos of her playing with the Kong.Dawn is a very sweet dog. We had a fun dog-venture with her today.

100% of DAWN's balance will be sent to whoever adopts DAWN.
Adopt DAWN and Receive DAWN's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, DAWN's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is DAWN's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the DAWN, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming DAWN's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and DAWN was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, DAWN’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the DAWN’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, DAWN’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
