About this Dog
Baron/Legend is 2yrs/9mos old, weighs 52.6lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped. Baron's guardian adds: "Baron, originally Legend, was found as a stray behind our home on 2/14/24. We adopted him from BARCS shortly after when we learned no owner had come forward to claim him after piecing together his story. Legend was previously found in November 2023 as a stray and stayed at BARCS until he was adopted from BARCS in January 2024. One month later, he was found in the alley behind our house. He knows 'sit', 'touch', 'crate', 'go potty', and 'come'. He is used to being home alone for 6 hours twice a week. He is in the house during the day and sleeps in his crate at night. Also, he rides well in the car. Baron's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him: "Baron has been a wonderful addition to our home, but with us already having two large dogs before finding him, we have not been able to give him the appropriate time, attention, and training that he needs. We explored professional training options for him, but also do not have the financial means to get him to a place where he is able to remain in our home." Baron's guardian states the following regarding children: Since Baron hasn't lived with children, his guardian recommends his living with teenaged children or older, stating... "When being handled by women, he is sometime reactive towards children (barks at them alot) but he has not had any reaction towards children when being handled by men." Baron's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Baron lives with dogs, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating... "He has always been friendly and responded well towards other dogs. He is still learning to play less rough with dogs that are much smaller than him, and prefers to play with his stuffed toys alone but overall can play well with other dogs. I would not recommend he join another household with other two large dogs because it's a handful." Baron's guardian states the following regarding cats: Although Baron lives with cats, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats, stating "He chases cats and we would not recommend him living in a home with cats without supervision". Baron's guardian describes him as: Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Independent Indoor dog Crate-Trained Likes men and women Baron's guardian describes his ideal future home: "The ideal future home for Baron/Legend would be someone with no young children and no more than 1 other dog in the home so that they can give him the time, attention, and training needed to be his best self. Would not recommend living with puppies until fully integrated in the home as he is a "puppy" himself in some ways." Rehoming Fee: $50 Location: Baltimore, MD
