About this Dog
Meet Monk—a 5-year-old brindle bundle of energy with a soft spot for squeaky stuffies and a heart full of second chances. This handsome boy came to us as an owner surrender, and not long after arrival, we discovered he was heartworm positive. But Monk took it like a champ. After months of treatment, rest, and way too many plush toy casualties, Monk is now officially heartworm-free and ready to start his next chapter.Monk doesn’t just love his stuffies—he needs them. He carries them around the yard like prized possessions, and having one in his mouth on walks actually helps him slow down, take a breath, and enjoy the world around him. With a toy by his side, Monk takes time to feel the breeze and smell the flowers—he’s a little poetic like that. He’s currently waiting on his neuter and a full behavioral assessment, including a dog test to see how he feels about potential playmates. But one thing’s already clear—this guy is full of life, love, and a whole lot of heart. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: acskc.org/adoption/adoption-applicationOnce your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Adopt Monk and Receive Monk's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Monk's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Monk's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Monk, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Monk's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Monk was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Monk’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Monk’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Monk’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
