About this Dog
Hi, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Charlie, a 60 lb., 3 year old, GSD x. I don’t remember much of my previous life other than I had a litter of puppies early on. The nice people at the shelter found me and then slowly nursed me back to a healthy weight since I was just skin and bones. However, my past doesn’t define me.This is what my foster mom has to say about me: Charlie is a super sweet girl who prefers spending time with her people! Charlie is very gentle with our almost 2-year-old daughter and would be great for a family with kids or another dog because she enjoys playing. She is a snuggler and gives kisses, knows how to sit, is treat-motivated, takes treats gently, and is housetrained.Charlie has spent time at doggy day care and does really well there. She loves hanging out and playing with her doggy friends. Charlie loves to go on walks and loves hiking. She does chase after squirrels and cats and sometimes barks at other dogs (especially if they start barking first). Charlie had isolation/separation anxiety when we first got her, but has made wonderful progress and we are now able to leave her at home alone for a couple hours. We expect that once adopted, she will need her people to give her time to adjust to her new home. The change may cause some angst and she may regress, but we have no doubt that once she feels comfortable in her new home, she will regain her confidence and her anxiety will be minimal. Charlie would do best with someone who is home the majority of the time and has the flexibility and patience to work with her to make her feel safe and comfortable when leaving the house. She can sometimes be skeptical of male visitors to the home, especially those with beards and hats, but generally avoids them and tolerates their presence. Charlie will make a fabulous furry family member. As long as her forever family gives her unconditional love and support, she will bloom into an even more perfect version of herself!

Adopt Charlie and Receive Charlie's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Charlie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Charlie's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Charlie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Charlie's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Charlie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Charlie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Charlie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Charlie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
