Meet AVERY! AVERY was saved with her brother and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on September 1st, 2024, at just under 3 months old. Both pups were adopted together on October 20th, but sadly returned to the rescue on March 31st, 2025. Initially confused, Avery settled back in quickly. After a few weeks, she and her brother were placed in separate kennels to help prepare them for individual adoption. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and AVERY - $350 was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, AVERY - $350’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the AVERY - $350’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, AVERY - $350’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
