NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 6/13/2025: Jersey - female - approx 2 years old - 16.2 pounds - Yorkie/Brussels mix Reason for intake: PREGNANT. Jersey came to us from Bossier City Animal Control. She was abandoned at her home when her owners moved out. The neighbor had been feeding her when he saw her in the backyard alone. He (or she) didn't realize the people had moved out. Another neighbor finally realized there was no one living in the home and called BCAC. It's good to know she had people looking out for her even though her own people did not. Jersey is pregnant and an x-ray revealed that the skeletons are just now forming so we are not able to tell how many pups she has. We will send her back to the vet in a week for another x-ray. Stay tuned. She was very scared at first but once she warmed up, she turned out to be a very sweet dog. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Jersey (NOT AVAIL -NURSING) was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Jersey (NOT AVAIL -NURSING)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Jersey (NOT AVAIL -NURSING)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Jersey (NOT AVAIL -NURSING)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
