NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 8/12/2025: Prada - female - DOB 9/8/2014 - 8.12 pounds - Dachshund/Chihuahua mix Reason for intake: Prada is an owner-surrender. She has become snippy with the baby. Sometimes old dogs or dogs in general, just don't do well with small children and that's why we just don't adopt to homes with babies or small children under about the age of 7. We don't want a child to get injured and we certainly don't want one of our dogs labeled or end up at animal control for quarantine, etc. Anyway, the owner did the RIGHT THING so no negative comments, please. She appears to have something going on with her eyes (thus the head-tilt) and it seems painful. She did not want us around her eyes. We will have our vet check that out. We will also have the vet remove and send off the two mammary tumors we felt upon intake and spay her, etc. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Prada (NOT YET AVAILABLE) was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Prada (NOT YET AVAILABLE)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Prada (NOT YET AVAILABLE)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Prada (NOT YET AVAILABLE)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
