Accidental litter situation - Syrian "Teddy Bear" Hamsters. They are all fairly easy to handle, especially for those experienced with hamsters. They are all fairly easy going but we are sure they would correct you if you ever treated them disrespectfully. Since hamsters do not like living together, they are all housed and adoptable individually. Fill out an adoption application! Since pet store cages are often times too small for hamsters, they can come with their estates. They are used to housing of large dimensions after all. Adoptions in Baton Rouge, LA in connection with our guinea pig adoption events or individually scheduled. MHRR asks a $20 adoption fee for hamsters. Bin cage can be purchased from us with the adoption of a hamster. The bin can come with accessories such as appropriate sized wheel for the size of hamster, water bottle, sand tray and climbing/surface texture items. Please mention this on your application if you are interested. We use a combination of Higgins Sunburst, Mazuri Rat and Science Selective hamster foods. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Cupcake was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Cupcake’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Cupcake’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Cupcake’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
