About this Dog
Sterling… a big, beautiful pup, full of love and eager to find his perfect family! This boy, a mix of Great Pyrenees and Australian Shepherd came into rescue after his owners surrendered him to a local KY shelter. He is a bit underweight but with time, good eats, and plenty of love and attention Sterling will grow into an amazing boy! Sterling enjoys running around the yard or just hanging with all the dogs. He is a smart boy, responds to his name, takes corrections very well, and is learning to sit for a treat and to walk on leash without pulling – sometimes his natural curiosity gets the best of him! Sterling simply loves people, has a zest for life, and wants to see what the world has to offer. Sterling would do great with an active family who enjoys going out and “doing things,” like hiking, walking around the neighborhood, and he may be a good candidate for agility training. This boy is always game for the next adventure, ready to hop into your vehicle for a ride! He is also happy to stand for a good brushing, to ensure he looks his best before going out and about! Dog-savvy cats, as he wanted to chase when he met the kitties. The resident cats just looked at him refusing to join, so he quickly lost interest. Sterling would love a home with another dog but would also do great with an active family, maybe some kids—he just requires plenty of stimulation, attention, and exercise.
