About this Dog
Hello,
We have a Husky/Shepherd mix dog that is just not working out for our home. He is just about 2 years old and we have had him that length of time. Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to give him the amount of time and energy he needs. Even though our yard is large and fenced for him to get a good run, he has a tendency to constantly find ways to get out and also has destroyed everything we have in the back yard including cables for tv and phones.
When he's in the house, no one can do anything because he has to be watched constantly. He can not be left by himself or on his own as he has destroyed a sofa and a large chair, poops in the hall and bedrooms; pees on items as well and every chance will find whatever he can to destroy it.
I'm a dog person and have had them for over 30 years but this is the first time I have had one that has required so much energy to train and teach. I work 2 jobs and just can't do it. So, it is time to give Apollo an opportunity for a good life not stuck in his kennel all day when we aren't home.
He is not up to date on his shots but he is neutered and microchpped. He has natural dog instincts when it comes to smaller animals; i.e., seeing an outdoor cat he sees a rabbit and will act accordingly. Even though we have an indoor cat and they "play" I wouldn't recommend placing him in a home with other animals. Please let me know next steps as I would like to surrender him this week. Please help us.
