About this Dog
Savannah is believed to be a one-year-old. 55 lb., Bulldog/Staffordshire Terrier mix with a heart as big as her goofy grin. Rescued from the streets of Oklahoma and brought to Iowa through our rescue organization, this sweet girl has already overcome so much—and she’s ready to find a forever family who will love her as much as she’ll love them. When Savannah first arrived in Iowa, she was scared and shut down—understandably so, after being left to fend for herself. But the moment she stepped inside her foster home, her true personality blossomed. She became a loving, playful, and endearing pup who thrives on human companionship and fills every room with joy. Savannah currently lives with two adults, two kids (ages 10 and 14), and three resident dogs ranging from 40 to 100 pounds. She’s been an absolute gem—potty trained, kennel trained, and never once destructive or aggressive. She’s also never had an accident inside her foster home! Savannah did well free roam when she first came into foster, but she has since developed a bit of anxiety when her family leaves her, so she needs to be kenneled due to some destructive behavior while they're gone. She loves roaming around the fenced-in backyard, where she gets the zoomies and soaks up the sunshine—but she’s still working on overcoming her fear of the outside world beyond those safe boundaries. We believe her time alone on the streets left a lasting impression, and she’ll need a patient family willing to help her continue building trust and confidence outdoors. Savannah adores people and can be a little jealous when affection is being shared—never in an aggressive way, but she may try to wedge herself between you and another pup just to soak up some extra snuggles. Her future family should know she absolutely had a home once; she was clearly loved, and she just wants to feel that love again. She does wonderfully with dogs her size but is still learning to play more gently with smaller dogs. She doesn't live with cats but has had exposure to cats. She has met a few and done very well during the introductions. She is curious but gentle and appropriate in her meeting. One important note: Savannah has shown signs of seasonal allergies, which presented as itchy skin and ears. We have addressed the issue with medication and she’s healing beautifully. She is on a daily allergy medication at this time. Her allergies could be seasonal, regional, or possibly a one-time issue—but it’s something potential adopters should be aware of and budget for, just in case. Savannah is ready to bring boundless love, laughter, and loyalty to her forever home. If you’re looking for a sweet, soulful dog who’s already come so far—and just needs someone to help her continue the journey—Savannah is waiting to meet you. Adopt Savannah and Receive Savannah's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Savannah's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Savannah's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Savannah, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Savannah's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Savannah was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Savannah’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Savannah’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Savannah’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
